As the Chief Human Resources Officer at ANZ, a leading Australian bank with operations in 33 markets, Susie was responsible for driving ANZ's people strategy to create a Super Regional Bank with a vibrant, diverse and inclusive workforce.
With more than 25 years broad experience across banking, retail and engineering, she has worked with many great people around the world, from London, Vancouver and New York to Shanghai, Manila and Melbourne. She is a strong advocate for the consideration of all aspects of diversity in the workplace, believing it improves decision making and encourages innovation.
Susie is passionate about supporting women to fulfil their potential in the corporate world and recognises that success will call for a mix of systemic change in how companies hire, promote and select for talent, as well as how we help women be their best, without having to forego who they are as individuals. She has no plans to stop on this quest until 50:50 gender balance becomes a reality.
Susie believes that a consistent and clearly articulated culture makes or breaks an organisation in the long run and that culture is driven almost wholly by what senior leaders talk about the most; what they say/do and don't say/do, and how they interact every single day.
