Siobhan Toohill is a recognised leader in sustainability, urban design and the built environment.

With a focus on creating long-term value for organisations and communities, Siobhan evaluates emerging issues (from climate change risk to social wellbeing to supply chain ethics) as seen through the eyes of stakeholders - and typically reframes these issues as opportunities.

Siobhan has a particular interest in how digital can enhance our experiences of cities, places and social connections.

Previously, Siobhan established the sustainability function at Australian property group Stockland, garnering senior leadership support, and leading significant cultural change, culminating in the organisation recognised as the world's most sustainable property group by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index in 2011. Further recognition included membership of the Corporate Knights Global 100 Most Sustainable Companies (World Economic Forum, Davos) 2010-12, Australia New Zealand Climate Leadership Index 2009-12, and Ethical Investor's Most Sustainable Company of the Year 2009.

Having delivered award-winning third-party assured sustainability reports and participated in global corporate reporting pilots, Siobhan is at the forefront of communicating the value of sustainability. She's established metrics at enterprise level addressing liveability and wellbeing, eco-efficiency performance, and other environmental and social impacts, linked to value creation and financial outcomes.

As Deputy Chair of the Green Building Council of Australia and a Director of the Australian Building Code of Australia Siobhan shapes national building standards and rating tools including the recently launched Green Star Communities.

With over 15 years experience in architecture, urban design and sustainability, Siobhan has played a significant role in the placemaking and masterplanning of globally awarded large-scale urban projects across Australia, including the Rouse Hill Regional Centre, Sydney, Victoria Harbour, Melbourne Docklands and numerous Sydney town centres and harbour foreshore sites.

Siobhan has also contributed to the development of a range of best practice guidelines including the award winning NSW Coast Design Guidelines and has led studios and lectured in design at UNSW, the University of Sydney and UTS.

Siobhan has a BSc (Arch), BArch and Graduate Diploma Urban Design from the University of Sydney.
