Advance is Australia's largest global network of high achieving Australians and alumni worldwide. With company culture as her top priority, Serafina sets the strategic vision for Advance and harnesses the passions and ideas of the team, Board of Directors and Advisory Board and sets them in motion.

Serafina's role is as diverse as the ocean is deep, developing partnerships, being the architect for Advance Innovation, Awards and thought leadership programs and inspiring the team is what she does on a daily basis.

Serafina was appointed CEO in January 2008 and was the catalyst in evolving the organisation from a global networking community to become Australia’s global innovation network, a connection hub of innovators with global thinkers and doers, and a platform to share the extraordinary stories of Australians around the world.

Serafina has lived in Australia, Italy and Dubai, and developed projects in London, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Singapore, China and India. Serafina currently calls Brooklyn, New York home.

Prior to joining Advance, Serafina managed a HR and capacity building consultancy in the Middle East, where she developed and executed large scale CEO mentoring, leadership, assessment and employment reform programs.

Her passions lie in creative partnerships, social entrepreneurship and the arts and she has previously held Board positions with the Adelaide Fringe, Australia's largest multi art festival and second largest in the world; Australian Network for Art and Technology, Australia's peak network for artists working with science and technology; South Australian Women's Advisory Council; and Council for Italians Abroad in SA, the Italian Government's diaspora network.

Serafina has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Adelaide, an Honours Degree in Italian Language and Literature from Flinders University, a Diploma in European Economics from the University of Perugia in Italy, and a Graduate Diploma in Management from the University of South Australia.

She is the winner of the Global category of the Australian Financial Review and Westpac 2012 Inaugural '100 Women of Influence' Awards.
