Sara Watts was most recently, Vice-Principal (Operations) at the University of Sydney. In this role she had responsibility for five key operational units: Finance, HR, ICT, Campus Infrastructure and the University’s newly configured PMO.

Prior to moving to the University, Sara was Chief Financial Officer and Executive Sponsor Corporate Responsibility, IBM Australia and New Zealand, a role she had held for over six years. During her earlier career, Sara held a number of senior roles in business process improvement, finance process transformation, and internal audit across IBM’s Australia/New Zealand and Asia Pacific operations.

Sara regularly speaks on finance transformation, data analytics, social business and the impact of technology in improving business models. In November 2013, Sara was the recipient of the 2nd ARN WIITCA (Women in ICT Awards) Achievement Award for her leadership skills and commitment to women in the Australian ICT industry.

Sara sits on the board of Vision Australia, chairs the Audit Committee of the Victorian Auditor General’s Office, and is the immediate past Chair of Sydney Philharmonia Choirs. Her qualifications include a BSc (Sydney), MBA (Macquarie), FCPA and she is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
