Roz is a highly skilled urban planner with more than 30 years of experience in urban and regional planning both in Australia and the Asia Pacific Region. Having worked in both the public and private sectors Roz offers a sound appreciation and understanding of planning and development issues at the local, regional and national levels. Her extensive knowledge and hands-on experience analyzing and synthesizing complex information, and extrapolating key findings and opportunities has resulted in delivering strategies and plans that are integrated, sustainable and innovative.

Roz has excellent leadership qualities. For 15 years Roz led a very successful and highly regarded multi-award winning urban planning, urban design and landscape architecture consultancy, Hansen Partnership. Roz has extensive experience in chairing meetings, has a sound knowledge of good governance practices and adopts a very inclusive approach to discussion and decision-making. She regularly appears as an expert speaker and commentator on planning related issues at planning forums and industry related events and is highly regarded by her peers in the urban planning profession.

Roz is a Life Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia as well as a Fellow of the Victorian Planning and Environmental Law Association and a Professorial Fellow in the Faculty of Architecture Building and Planning at the University of Melbourne. Roz has appeared as an expert planning witness at VCAT, Planning Panels Victoria and the Supreme Court in Victoria. Roz was also chairperson of the Ministerial Advisory Committee for the Melbourne Metropolitan Strategy (Plan Melbourne) and is currently chairperson of the Geelong Authority.
