Robbie Sefton is a communication specialist and rural leader committed to the future prosperity of rural, regional and remote Australia.
Robbie has a dual investment in country Australia as primary producer of wool, meat and grains and as the managing director of a national strategic communications company Sefton & Associates. The company recently won the inaugural 2013 Government Relations Consultancy of the Year Award.
Since 1990 she has lived, worked and travelled all over regional, rural and remote Australia as a rural leader and advocate. She is known and respected by farmers, agribusiness, Ministers, and people at all levels in between.
Robbie’s business, Sefton & Associates, has had its heart, soul and business in the bush since 1990. It provides high-level bespoke public relations and marketing strategies; leadership development programs creating a new generation of rural role models; and community consultation services including facilitation and submissions reporting.
Graduate of the Australian Rural Leadership Program and RIRDC NSW Rural Woman of the Year, Robbie has been involved in numerous important advisory groups and boards in the areas of leadership, women, small business and rural/regional issues. Robbie has been invited to advisory boards for the Australian Taxation Office and the Reserve Bank of Australia, Woolworths and the Reserve Bank, based on her expertise as a small business operator in rural Australia.
As a board member she helped turn around the financial affairs of the Australian Wool Services Ltd (The Woolmark Company), which has now been divested into the Graziers Investment Company. She has represented Australian rural women in international forums (such as the International Rural Women’s Conference) and in high level forums in Australia (such as the Rural Women’s Summit in Canberra hosted by then Minister Tanya Plibersek).
Robbie is a highly experienced public speaker and media performer in print and electronic media, able to speak at short notice on issues related to rural, regional and remote Australia.
