Julie White has over 30 years experience in both the not–for-profit and corporate sectors. She is currently a non-Executive Director on a range of not for profit and other boards and a strategic adviser on social investment and staff community engagement to business and to not-for-profits in strategic planning, corporate governance and corporate and community engagement

Currently Julie has a range of non-executive roles, including the Advisory Board of the Centre for Social Impact (UNSW), Chair of Reach Out (Inspire Foundation), board member of the South Australian government newly created Health Industry SA, the Centre for Social Impact at the University of New South Wales and founding board member of Women’s Community Shelters. She has served on the Advisory Boards of the Salvation Army Eastern Territory, Social Enterprise Finance Australia, the Australian Scholarships Foundation, Big Issue, also as Chair of the Coca Cola Australia Foundation and is currently a member of Chief Executive Women.

Julie was global head of the Macquarie Group Foundation where she oversaw the growth of the Foundation to become one of Australia’s leading Foundations whilst building its international presence.

Julie was invited to participate in the Australian Government’s 2020 Summit as part of the ‘Strengthening Communities, Families and Social Inclusion’ Group, which brought together leaders from the not-for -profit, government and corporate sectors. She was named as one of the Australian Financial Review BOSS Magazine’s True Leaders in 2008 and was named in January 2009, by ABC Limelight magazine, as one of the top smart arts 09 executives. Julie was also named as a finalist in the Telstra Business Women’s Awards for 2009.

Julie has been a regular speaker at philanthropic and not for profit conferences both here and overseas and is regarded as one of Australia’s leading experts in corporate philanthropy and community social investment.

Previously, Julie has worked as a community social worker in local government in Australia and overseas, established state wide community legal education programs for the NSW Government, and has worked in educational development and fundraising.
