Catherine is the founder and CEO of award winning financial planning practice, Affinity Private. She has been delivering strategic financial planning advice and investment management for private clients for over 20 years. She was the 2013 AFA Female Excellence in Advice Award winner and in 2010 was named Financial Planner of the Year by both Money Management Magazine and the Australian Private Banking Council.
Her current roles include Deputy Chairmanship of Equity Trustees Superannuation, Director of Scale Investors and committee member at The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research. Prior to founding Affinity Private, Catherine held advisory roles with both NAB Private Wealth and Macquarie Private Wealth.
With an honours degree in law focusing on corporate governance and a masters degree majoring in tax, Catherine has a keen interest in the technical aspects of personal finance.
As an early adopter of flat dollar fees, running a commission free practice since 2008, Catherine is an advocate of the benefits for both consumers and advisers of remuneration models which most closely align adviser and client interests.
Catherine has a passion for financial literacy and economic empowerment for women. She is an expert presenter and columnist for VicSuper's Super Women Money program, has a fortnightly Money Brain column in The Age and Sydney Morning Herald and hosts a weekly women's leadership podcast, Success Stories.
