With a dynamic leadership career spanning the property, arts, finance, government and health sectors, Carol Schwartz is recognised as an esteemed commentator on gender equality, women�s leadership, governance, social enterprise, business and finance issues.
Carol is a passionate advocate for women in leadership. An eminent leader herself, Carol was recognised as one of Australia�s most influential women in the Australian Financial Review and Westpac�s Inaugural 100 Women of Influence Awards and in 2011 was inducted into the Victorian Women�s Honour Roll.
Together with her husband Alan and their four children, Carol established the Trawalla Foundation as a vehicle for their philanthropic activities. The Trawalla Foundation invests in exceptional individuals and organisations with a focus on strengthening gender equality, creativity, sustainability and social justice within our society.
Carol believes in mobilizing women in order to create change. She is the Founding Chair of the Women�s Leadership Institute Australia, and works very closely with this initiative to catalyse and strengthen the work undertaken. She is one of the leading agitators for change of women�s representation in Australia and was the driver of the Women for Media initiative which aims to increase female representation in our media.
Carol is also Founding Chair of Our Community, which works to build strong communities through stronger community organisations.
As one of Australia's most dynamic leaders, Carol was awarded an Officer of the Order of Australia in the 2019 Queen's Birthday Honours list for her distinguished service to the community as a supporter of women in leadership roles, to social justice advocacy and to business.
