Founding Chair Carol Schwartz and Executive Director, Amy Mullins gave evidence at the hearing in support of the Bill and provided their views as to why the Bill was needed to achieve gender balance on government boards.

The bipartisan 40:40:20 target is currently in place and supported by the government and the Labor Party. This Bill seeks to enshrine the target in legislation so as to ensure the longevity of the target as well as providing transparency measures and suggested good practice for recruitment.
